Mrs. Johnson was born a Wildcat. Born in Lexington, Kentucky, Mrs. Johnson has been a Big Blue fan for her entire life. Mrs. Johnson's family moved to Guntersville, AL, as a young child where she grew up a Guntersville Wildcat! She currently lives in Guntersville with her husband, Ryan and two sons, Luke and Ches. The Johnson family are members of First Baptist Church in Guntersville where Mrs. Johnson serves as the College and Career class teacher. Both Mr. and Mrs. Johnson are Guntersville alumni and are proud Wildcats with a strong passion and love for the Guntersville community and the Schools of the City of Guntersville.
Mrs. Johnson began her teaching career at Baldwin County High School where she taught Spanish I, II, and III. She coached varsity basketball, junior varsity softball, soccer, and volleyball. After three years, she made the move back to Marshall County in 2003 when she began teaching US History at Albertville High School. At Albertville, she coached Varsity Soccer, Varsity Volleyball, and Varsity Basketball. Mrs. Johnson transitioned into teaching AP Government at Albertville 6 years ago and worked as the AP Coordinator. She has served as department head, on Leadership Team, and on the Technology Team.
Over her many years of teaching, her passion as a life-long learner engaged her in new pedagogical techniques such as Alabama Reading Intiatives, integrating technology, teaching online courses for ACCESS, and vertically aligning the social studies curriculum in grades 5-12.
The move back to Guntersville as Assistant Principal in 2019 and hiring as Principal in 2023 has been the most exciting part of Mrs. Johnson's educational and professional journey. Her love for the community and students of Guntersville Middle School drives her to work diligently for the best of GCS students, teachers, staff, and parents. She is a Wildcat through and through and loves serving the Guntersville community and students in the Schools of Guntersville!
