Mr. Chris Andrews, Principal

What a wonderful privilege it is to be a part of the Schools of Guntersville family as principal at Guntersville High School. Being a lead administrator in a prestigious school such as Guntersville High is truly a dream come true.

There are many parts of my background that have prepared me for this season of my life. The majority of my educational career was spent at my alma mater, Geraldine High School, where I taught English for twenty years. I also coached several teams during my time at Geraldine, including our 1999 girls’ softball team which won the class 2A state championship. Before retiring in 2015, I was an assistant principal at Collinsville Elementary School.

While I was teaching, I also served as a bivocational pastor in three Southern Baptist churches in DeKalb County. For the last 7 ½ years, I served as the full time pastor at Liberty Baptist Church in Crossville. I was elected to the DeKalb County Board of Education in 2020, and I served one year before resigning from the DCBOE and coming out of retirement to accept the principal position at Guntersville High School.

Personally, I have been very blessed by the Lord with a loving family. My wife Beverly and I have two daughters, Stephanie Andrews Graben and Kayla Andrews. We have two grandchildren, Ellis and Campbell Graben.

I look forward to getting to know the staff and students of GHS as we work together to prepare our graduates to be productive citizens in whatever path of life they choose. It is a pleasure to be here at Guntersville High School, and please feel free to reach out and say “hello” during one of our school activities. Go Wildcats!
