Students living outside of the Guntersville City limits but would like to apply for non-resident open enrollment may begin submitting applications May 31, 2023. The deadline for submitting non resident open enrollment applications is June 15, 2023. No applications will be considered after June 15, 2023. A determination letter regarding your enrollment application status will be mailed on or about July 1, 2023. Only applications submitted via the link or QR code will be considered.

the Alabama State Department of Education released the 3rd Grade Reading Subtest of the Alabama Comprehensive Assessment Program (ACAP) as part of the Alabama Literacy Act. Cherokee Elementary School ranked among the very top of the state by achieving 94.46 percent of students being proficient and on grade level.
Beginning in August 2023, Guntersville City Schools will manage their own substitutes. This will allow us to offer our substitutes higher wages, more opportunities to accept jobs in our district and greater personal service.

The Guntersville City Board of Education requires that all students enrolled in the city schools conduct themselves in a manner that facilitates the educational process. To insure that the educational process in the schools is not disrupted because of misbehavior on the part of enrolled students, the Board of Education has established specific classifications of misbehaviors and the appropriate disciplinary actions to deal with these violations of student conduct.
