  • Community Guide for Reopening 2021-2022 School Year for In-Person Instruction

    Guntersville City Schools is committed to providing high-quality instruction, emotional supports, and a safe in-person learning environment for all students. We are looking forward to the 2021-2022 school year and welcoming all of our students back to campus. We have created and will continue refining a plan that meets the needs of our students and staff as we return to a more traditional year of instruction and-more importantly- learning. Much was learned over the past year that will serve us well in education our students for the future. It is our hope to capitalize on this learning along with prior knowledge to exceed prior standards of learning. We thank you for your continued support, and together this school year will be a major success!

  • Superintendent Statement on Health Practices After April 9 and Beyond

    On April 9, Governor Kay Ivey’s order requiring a mask be worn in public places when within six feet of a person from another household will expire. She also stressed that wearing a mask is a common sense, best practice during the pandemic and that she will continue to wear hers when social distancing is not feasible.   • COVID-19 Guidance for Athletics

    OBJECTIVE: TO Offer GCS student-athletes and coaches best practices in order to commence the 2020-21 school year athletic seasons as scheduled and have complete seasons through championship play; to educate our coaches and student-athletes how to safely live with the COVID-19 virus by following the Centers for Disease Control (CDC), Alabama Department of Public Health (ADPH), and Alabama State Department of Education (ALSDE) guidelines while fostering an educational athletic environment; to develop our student-athletes as physically and safely as possible; to provide best practices for students, coaches, officials, and fans while participating and attending athletic events. The following best practices are suggested for all AHSAA athletic activities for the 2020-21 school year.
