Guntersville City Schools Reopening Plan

Dear Wildcats:

As we prepare for the upcoming opening of the 2020-2021 school year there is no doubt much uncertainty awaits us over the next ten (10) months.  Due to the current circumstances surrounding the COVID-19 Pandemic, we are offering both a traditional (face-to-face) and virtual (online) instructional platform for our students to process their learning during this upcoming school year.

Below you will find a link to the guidelines for our school system as we prepare to start both traditional and virtual learning for our students on Wednesday, August 12th.  Most importantly and as always, please know the safety of our students, faculty, and staff will be first and foremost in our decisions as we move forward.  Our goal is for the information contained within this document to provide guidance as the upcoming school year quickly approaches. Nonetheless, because of the ongoing uncertainty brought about by the COVID-19 Pandemic, the decisions being made today may change based upon the spread and/or infection rates within our community over the course of time.

The interaction that comes with having students, faculty and staff fully engaged in the operations of our schools has been missed over the last several months.  So, we look forward to having all these important members of our school system family back on our campuses within the next several weeks.  Still, we understand and do not dismiss there is a certain amount of anxiety and challenges that exist because of the conditions surrounding the COVID-19 Pandemic.  Therefore, by working together we can address the challenges awaiting us as opportunities and make the upcoming school year even though different a real success over the course of time.
