Let’s work together to keep COVID-19 out of our schools

Let’s work together to keep COVID-19 out of our schools since the virus does not originate inside the walls of a school.  The virus is brought in or introduced to the school by someone outside the walls of the school.  As we march toward the reopening of all our schools on August 25th, we ask and need the help of all stakeholders to keep the COVID-19 Virus out of our schools.  We have been working hard to put plans in place as well as creating protocols to deal with the virus if it shows up in our schools.  But, the best solution and defense is to keep it out.  You, as a stakeholder in our school system, become our first line of defense.  We ask in the strongest plea possible as we reopen our schools that you follow the three (3) simple steps provided below toward this critical effort of keeping COVID-19 out of our schools.

Do not put your child on a bus or send them to school if they are sick, have a fever, or show any symptoms of the Flu or COVID-19.  These Symptoms have been widely advertised over the recent months and can be found in numerous CDC or Alabama Department of Public Health postings.

Do not put your child on a bus or send them to school if they have been exposed to anyone with the COVID-19 or have been exposed to anyone currently being tested for the virus that has not been medically released or received a negative test result for the virus.

Do not put your child on a bus or send them to school if you or they themselves are being tested for COVID-19 and have not been medically released or received a negative test result for the virus.

These three simple steps are now and will remain critical to keeping the COVID-19 out of our schools.
